Custom Birthday Run Medals With A Name And A Distance

These are round, single-sided birthday run medals with a raised outer rim, a full-colour face and a striped ribbon, made to order with a name, a distance and a language you choose. Minimum order 100 pieces, samples in 7-10 days, bulk in 15-20 days, shipped from Shenzhen, China.

What can be changed on each medal?

Race organisers usually need one design and many names, and the name is the field that blocks most suppliers. Our workshop sets the name, the distance and the line along the bottom arc per order, so a single batch can carry a different name on every piece at no extra design cost. Send us a name list or just the format you use and we will lay it out for the whole run.

Can the lettering be in Spanish or another language?

Yes. The sample shows Spanish lettering, and the same layout works in English, French, Portuguese, German or Italian. Two things change with the language: accented characters need a little more room than plain capitals, and long words in a script face have to be sized down to stay inside the rim. Give us the exact wording and we will show you how it fits before anything is made.

How do we approve a sample before the full order?

You approve twice. First a digital mockup with your own name and distance on the exact layout, so wording and spacing are settled before money is spent on tooling. Then a physical pre-production sample, 7-10 days, so the pink, the purple and the metal edge are judged on the real article rather than on a screen. Nothing goes into the full run until you sign off that sample.

Can the ribbon match our event colours?

The ribbon in the sample is a two-tone stripe, and it is the cheapest way to make one medal design belong to two different events. Send a colour reference for each event and we will match to a physical sample rather than to a screen. If your event already has a ribbon supplier, we can ship the medals with the loop open and no ribbon at all.

How many pieces do we have to commit to?

The floor is 100 pieces per design, and those 100 can be split across names. The piece price moves with four things: quantity, diameter, how many colours sit on the face, and whether a ribbon is included. Send the quantity and the in-hands date and we will quote against both, so you are not comparing a price that assumes a deadline you cannot use.

Which documents ship with the goods?

RoHS, SGS, EN71 and California Prop 65 reports are available on request, and the factory holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and a Sedex audit, all current. If the run includes a children's category, tell us the age band and the destination market so the paperwork can be pinned down before you commit, rather than after.

Will a repeat order match the first batch?

Yes. The tooling is kept for three years and there is no mould fee on a repeat, and we hold the approved proof on file so every later run is judged against that artwork rather than drawn again. This matters most for annual events, where a medal that drifts by a shade or a millimetre reads as a cheaper medal to the runner who already owns last year's.

Start at the edge. A slim metal rim circles a hot pink ring, and inside that ring the face opens into a cream field. The top arc carries CUMPLEAÑOS in purple block letters with a rose outline; a small purple badge sits under it holding DE, flanked by two round dots. The centre belongs to a single name in a flowing script, edged in metal, with a heart on either side. Below the name the distance reads 4.5K in tall purple numerals between six short speed lines. Laurel sprigs frame both sides in purple and pink. A runner in purple strides along the lower left, over mountains, a low pink sun and a winding road, with a tree on the right. The bottom arc carries one line of script on a pink banner. Small hearts and dots are scattered across the face. At the top, a loop formed with the body takes a striped pink and purple ribbon.

Customized Medal Factory.jpg

Vistarts runs its own factory in Longgang, Shenzhen, with 130+ staff, 10+ designers and 20+ engineers, and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and a current Sedex audit. For a medal like this the risk is never the design, it is the variable data: a hundred names, one wrong letter in the tenth, and the whole box is unusable. Every order is proofed name by name against the approved list before the run starts, and each piece is checked against that proof rather than against the previous piece. Ribbon colours are matched to a physical reference, not to a screenshot.

One layout, unlimited variants. Because the name, the distance and the bottom line are set per order, a race can hand out an individual medal to every finisher without paying for a hundred designs — which is the whole point of a birthday run. Three things we will not pretend: we cannot promise a pixel-exact colour match to a screen or a fabric swatch, only to a physical sample you approve; very fine script strokes close up when the medal is made small, so we will tell you when a name needs a heavier weight; and we do not reproduce licensed characters, club crests or third-party logos without written authorisation from the owner.

The advantages of Vistarts custom made medals.jpg

To quote accurately we need four things: the wording for the top arc and the bottom line, the distance or date you want on the face, the language and script for the name field, and the quantity with your in-hands date. Add the ribbon colours if you have them. Send all of it to sean@vistarts.net, or start from https://vistarts.com/about_us/ and tell us the event. You will get a mockup with your own wording on it before any commitment.

 FAQ

Q1: Is the ribbon attachment safe to hand to runners, including children at a family fun run?

The loop at the top is formed with the medal body rather than added as a separate ring, so there is no joint for the ribbon to work loose from. Whether a piece suits a children's category is a determination we will not make on your behalf. Give us the age band and the destination market, and we will tell you exactly which paperwork applies — EN71 for Europe, and test reports with a children's product certificate for the United States on request — before you place the order.

Q2: Does a different name on every medal cost extra?

No design charge per name. The name field is set once for the order and the list is proofed as a whole, so a hundred different names cost the same as one repeated name. What does cost extra is a different ribbon or a different distance on the same run, because those change the setup rather than just the text.

Q3: What is the minimum order?

100 pieces per design. Those 100 can be split across names, distances and ribbon colours, so a club with four squads can still reach the minimum with one artwork.

Q4: How is the total price put together?

Quantity, diameter, the number of colours on the face, and whether a ribbon is included. Freight is quoted separately because it depends on destination and on whether you want it by sea or by air. Give us the quantity and the date you need the medals in hand and the quote will reflect that date.

Q5: How long does it take from artwork to delivery?

Sampling 7-10 days, bulk production 15-20 days after you approve the pre-production sample, and 12 working days on a rush basis where the calendar allows it. Transit time sits on top of that and depends on the destination, so tell us the in-hands date and we will work backwards from it.

Q6: Which compliance documents can you provide?

RoHS, SGS, EN71 and California Prop 65 reports on request, plus ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and a current Sedex audit for the factory. If a document is decisive for your market, ask for it at the quotation stage so it can be checked before the order is confirmed.

Q7: Will a repeat order match the first batch?

The tooling is kept for three years and no mould fee is charged on a repeat. The approved proof stays on file and the repeat is compared to that file, which is what keeps an annual event looking like one event.

Q8: What do we receive before we pay anything?

A mockup carrying your own wording, a written quotation against your quantity and date, and a clear list of what the price does and does not include. Nothing is charged until you have seen the mockup and confirmed the specification.
